Kenzie Ekelund
My passion for caring for children started long before I became an Early Childhood Educator. Growing up, my parents were foster parents, and I had the privilege of watching them welcome children into our home and love them as their own. That experience shaped who I am and inspired me to follow the same path of providing children with a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment.
During the beginning of COVID-19, I felt called to make a change. After years of working as a care aide, I knew my heart belonged in childcare. I enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program in Kelowna, and with each step, I became more certain that this was the career I was meant for.
The Story Of Little Red Childcare Centre
Opened in 2021
On October 1st, 2021, we bought the “Little Red House,” and what started as a dream soon became a reality. I spent the next few years working as an ECE, building experience, and preparing for the day I could open my own centre.
Finally, on October 1st, 2024, Little Red Childcare Centre officially opened its doors. Here, I strive to create a warm, home-like space where children feel loved, supported, and free to grow into themselves. For me, this is more than just a career—it’s my life’s passion.
The Story Of Little Blue Childcare Centre
Opening in 2026
In August of 2025, we purchased the “Little Blue House” in Okanagan Falls with a vision of expanding our childcare family. Over the next several months, we worked tirelessly to prepare the space—renovating, planning, and shaping it into a safe and inspiring environment for young learners. By February 2026, Little Blue Childcare Centre will officially open its doors, ready to welcome families from across the South Okanagan.
Just like Little Red, this centre is built on the belief that children thrive in warm, home-like spaces where they are supported, encouraged, and free to explore. Little Blue is not just an extension of our first centre—it is another step in a lifelong commitment to creating nurturing, affordable childcare that helps children grow with confidence and joy.

Little Blue Childcare Centre is located at 4812 Ferguson Place in Okanagan Falls, BC. This newly renovated centre will open in February 2026, serving families in OK Falls and surrounding South Okanagan communities with affordable, high-quality childcare.
